American Film Institute's dangerous connections

I was browsing the AFI site just to find out that without the sponsor of corporations the movie industry would have not a single party. Take a look on how stupid our favorite actors and actresses look when they are at the red carpet here.
If you did click at the link you saw the smiles and the poses celebrities, yes, they are turned into "celebrities", have to do. Just like a zoo.

These are some of the corporations:

"As part of its continuing effort to increase awareness and appreciation of American film history, AFI's 100 Years...100 Laughs is supported by an AFI website, in-theater trailers and a video retail program which launches today. General Motors, Blockbuster, U.S. Postal Service, Warner Bros., Pepsi, Anheuser-Busch, 20th Century Fox, AT&T, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios and Walt Disney Pictures are sponsors of AFI's continuing commemoration of the centennial of American movies." (emphasis added)

I still don't know what to think. Fortunately we are having access to movies from others countries lately at the TV which is great because it makes people have other influences.

What happened to the American dream? The Clinton-Obama era turned things upside down. Sad times.
Corporations are killing the Americans and the American culture has changed.
"I am _______ and I am an AFI member." actors and actresses are saying in one of the promotional movies at the AFI site.

Wake up America!

I'm gonna watch a Carlos Saura's movie now.

American citizens medal: doing the job of the government

US citizens can nominate an American hero till March 2013.

"Last year, people like you nominated over six thousand Americans from across the country and staff at the White House reviewed every single submission. Here are just a few examples:

Mary Jo Copeland has offered a safety net for Minneapolis families since 1985 -- offering food, clothing, shelter, and medical assistance to the needy.
Adam Burke, an Iraq combat veteran, runs "Veterans Farm," a 19-acre, handicap-accessible farm that helps returning veterans.
Janice Jackson founded a Baltimore nonprofit to serve women with varying degrees of disabilities."
Source: here.

All these 2012 American heroes are working to promote health what is strange since according to the American constitution health care is a right.
But we know how health is being neglected in America and in numerous countries.
Americans, nominate your heroes!

Saturday: Awards extravaganza

Take a look at this search to see the blog awards created till now. I believe that one day there will a a blog award, these created by bloggers not the officials, museum since they are part of blogosphere culture.
Wow! That was so unexpected. Maznah at Cooking Varieties gave me these six awards. They are all so colorful and beautiful! I'm very happy and honored receiving them. This is the second time this week Maznah passed me an award. We all know that there are people who loves the awards and people who don't. I want to give these to those who like so I will search for blogs that have awards at their pages for it indicates that they like them. I'll try to do it today. I'm accepting indications, so please, if you want one of the awards or know a friend of yours who likes receiving these images created with the intention of uniting people tell me. I always ask myself who created the award. I have already a list but I want to publish them all together. Rules: 1. Accept the award, post it in your blog with the link of the person who has given you. 2. Pass it on to 15 bloggers to keep the ball rolling. 3. Let the nominated bloggers know about their award by leaving a comment on their recent post. Have a great Saturday!
This is my list:
DB at Vagabond Journeys;
Catatonic Kid at Catatonic Kid;
Clinically Clueless at Clinically Clueless;
Herrad at Access Denied;
Lotosgreen at Japonisme;
Mari at 365 Days;;
Mariane at Anthing goes;
Maryt/theteach at Work of the Poet;
Missy at Missyz Stuff;
Sandy Calrson at Writing in Faith;
Tony at Tony's Blog;
Thank you all for inspiring me! Update: I have to delete one blog at the list because the blogger claims that as she is a journalist, she reports about Ballet, she doesn't want to be in this list and she claims that her "website" is no longer a blog because she got a domain and blogspot directs for her url. She already "received" a blog from Hella Heaven two years ago. I only feel sorry for journalists who don't have what as goal the "accountability" that Tim Sebastian talks about at the post below. So many great journalists doing a great work without receiving money! Some of them even refuses to put advertisements to be totally unbiased. I really thank all the pajamas media for the great work.

Award day! Sunshine award

I love the awards! I think that it is a way to tell other bloggers that you like their work, create interrelation between bloggers and it also makes people see that bloggers are powerful and deserve awards.
Blogosphere is still new and I believe that in a near future blogs will have right categories and it will be easier to find at search engineerings what we want. Surely... official awards from the Royal Academy, Amnesty International, Ford Foundation, Nobel Prize... lol and, of course, those who are really doing a good job will receive incentives... dream, dream, dream...
The Sunshine award was given to me by Maznah at Cooking Varieties. She is a very special blog friend that I had the luck to know.
Rules of the award:
Rules:
1- Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to them.
2- Tell us something about yourself.
3 -Nominate 10 other bloggers.
4 -And let them know you awarded them!
Thank you very much for remembering to pass me this award Mazhah. I'm very honored. Maznah made me share a recipe at her blog something I never thought I would do.
I'm Ana and... hmmm cough, cough,... well, this is so hard! lol Read my profile. I love reading, listening to music, the sun, sharing ideas the beauty and the ugly of human beings affects me in a deep way.
Now the ten bloggers. This is hard because I wish I could give it to all of those who I admire. There is a lot of great bloggers. It's amazing! But here it goes the ten:
Herrad at Access Denied;
Ken Foster at Ken's Sketch Journal;
Missy at Missyz Stuff;
Mortonlake at Caring and Sharing;
Tony at Tony's Blog;
Thank you all.

I won the Prolific Blog Award - Prolific? Me? I don't understand why anybody would think of me as prolific because I do my best, all I can not to talk

I wonder why the title has a certain amount of characters that we can not exceed. What if we want to give a synopses of what is in the post? The title would be more... I will write a post about it.
Now I want to thank Herrad for this award. Almost all awards I have came from her and this is an extra bonus because she is quite a woman.
I will come back after lunch to pass my list.
Thank you Herrad.
I think of these awards as something that unite bloggers and an opportunity of telling others that we appreciate them.
This is the first list:
Mariane at Anthing goes :)
Shoaib at Smaleque's Blog
Tommaso at Emgrammi
Bellestina at Elegy of the Euphoric .
I know that some bloggers don't like putting awards at their sites but I'm choosing some of them to show I like them. They understand.

Gold Paw Award - Thanks to Herrad again - reason I am not publishing daily

Wow! I didn't see that Herrad had gave me this great award at the same post of the two awards at the post below. I would like to explain why I am not publishing the way I did: I'm having back pain and a exam that shows that hemosedimentation is high. My ankles are swelling and I'm having to stay away from the computer, do exercises, walk, swim or stay at the pool for a while... blah blah.... I am also eating a special meal to try the reverse it all. I still didn't shared the awards I have to share but I will do it. I just want to already pass this one to a very special friend that has a very special Holly: Susan at If you are going to hell keep going. Holly! Meowwwwwwwwwww! Mom got this because of you! Arf, arf, arf,.... wooooooooolllllllffffffffffffff!!!! bark, bark, bark... bark... bark bark... arf... arf... arf......Nell is talking to Holly!

Most Inspirational Award - Thank you Herrad

Herrad at Access Denied passed me this award. I have already talked about her at this post. I know you will not click at the link so I copied it for you:
I wanted something that could put a smile on our faces and saw this Keith Hearing's collection Herrad's published. You don't know who Herrad is?... okay: She is fighting multiple sclerosis and post everyday about her struggle. She has amazing photos of Amsterdam and I am always inspired by her pictures and the way she inspire others by telling how she spend her day coping with symptoms. So this is to light up your day as it did to me. Have a great week! Thank you Herrad!
Her blog has an amazing collection of artistic works of diverse kinds that she puts after writing her daily post. It is worthwhile to visit her blog to see her private collection. I will pass the award later. Go to Herrad's blog in the meantime: Access Denied.
