Van Gogh and Hokusai's tree on blue background

Whenever I look at this van Gogh's painting, Almond Blossom, I think about Hokusai's work.
I don't know if van Gogh saw this printing but it's known that he was influenced by Japanese's art like many of his contemporaries and bought some of them.
Or it's quite a coincidence!

I agree, it does remind me of Japanese art. It is just so different from his "typical" works. It is still beautiful, but does not seem like his style..

Yes...
He left more than 800 works and some of them are not the Vincent that is known.
Unfortunately his work received a restrict perspective due to his biography being told even after someone sees his art.
